Manu Adventure – Puerto Maldonado

MANU ADVENTURE – NEOTROPICAL ECOSYSTEMS: The tropical rainforest and moist forest ,In its purest form a rainforest is essentially a non-seasonal forest where rainfall is both abundant and constant that is dominated by broad-leaved evergreen trees, sometimes of great stature. Rainforests  Manu Adventure  are lush, with many kinds of vines and epiphytes or air plants growing on the trees. A rainforest receives in general at least 200 cm of rainfall annually, though it can be much more. Precipitation is spread relatively evenly month to month. However, most of the tropics consist of forest where seasonal variation in rainfall is both typical and important. Technically a moist forest is the name given to a tropical forest with abundant but seasonal rainfall. This is an evergreen or partly evergreen forest that receives not less than 100 mm of precipitation in any month for two out of three years, is frost-free, and has an annual temperature of 24oC or more. Since the term rainforest is in such widespread and common usage, in this book I will continue to refer to lush, moist, tropical forests Manu Adventure the  seasonal or not, as rainforests.

Rainforest can be disturbed, by hurricane, lightning strike, isolated tree fall, or human activity. This opens the disturbed area, where light is increased, causing the microclimatic condition to differ from that inside the shaded, cooler, closed canopy. Fast-growing plant species intolerant of shade, like helicon as and legumes, are temporarily favored, and the result is a tangle of trees, shrubs, and vines. The gap created by the disturbance is soon covered by a huge, dense, irregular mass of greenery, or “jungle. The characteristics of this jungle  in Manu Adventure is that trees are thin boled and very close together, while palms and bamboos may abound along with various vines, creating thick tangles finding in  rainforest Manu Adventure

in manu adventure these jungles are successional, eventually returning to shaded forest as slower-growing species outcompete colonizing species. In recent years it has been realized that tropical forests are far more subject to natural disturbances than had been previously thought. In fact disturbance may be responsible for many of the ecological patterns evident in tropical forests, including the high diversity of species in Manu  Adventure

Manu Adventure  two  Trips Amazing  to  Puerto Maldonado

Manu Adventure – Biosphere Reserve has, within its boundaries, the highest concentration of bird life on Earth. At the time of writing, approximately 925 species have been recorded and ornithologists expect this figure to break the 1000 mark in the near future as remoter areas of the reserve are explored. There are a little under 9000 species of birds in the world and therefore Manu holds one in every  species found on the planet. No other protected area on Earth contains so many criature  living inside  the rainforest of the Manu Adventure

Manu Adventure: The explanation for so much avian diversity is that the Manu Biosphere Reserve contains a great variety of altitudinal zones and habitat types. Altitudes vary from over 4000 meters above sea level in the high Andes down to 350 meters in the lowland Amazonian rain forest, and for every 1000 meters gained or lost, the structure of the bird communities differs. This, coupled with the variety of forest types, grasslands, lakes, and micro-habitats such as bamboo stands, reed-beds, and tree falls, has produced the highest bird count for any area in the world.

Manu Adventure : Stretching in every direction to the horizon, Manu’s seemingly endless expanse of vegetation forms part of the largest chemical factory known on earth that of the tropical rainforests. Over millions of years, rainforest plants have evolved a bewildering assortment of chemicals as a defense against herbivore. Due to the similar biochemistry of all animals, many of these plant chemicals affect human beings and, in the proper dosage, can be adapted for use as medicines. Surprisingly, however, despite the fact that over one quarter of medicines in a modern pharmacy have been derived from rainforest of the manu adventure  find many  plants, less than one per cent of the Amazon’s plants has thus far been chemically analyzed Left The Río Pinquén, near which are said to roam uncontested in manu adventure

Manu Reserve 8 days / 7 nights

Manu Reserve is one of a few truly pristine regions of the tropics and probably the best area of the Amazon Rainforest!! In many other jungle areas, you might be lucky to see only birds, insect and occasionally a big animal because of proximity of humans, but this is not the case of the Manu – Rainforest Adventure as you can see many monkeys (about 13 different species), a big number of turtles, giant otters, peccaries, capybaras, tapirs and occasionally even a jaguar there! This makes the Manu National Park an ideal place to observe wildlife!!

 Blanquillo Rainforest Expedition

Amazon trail 8 days / 7 nights

Amazon Trail is the “Collpa” means in Quechua (mountain native) language salt of the earth. Also rainforest natives used it to designate certain areas used by animals indefinitely for a supplement of salts and minerals in their diet. These help against strong alkaloids and toxins that are contained in many rainforest’s plants and trees. During the Blanquillo – Rainforest Expedition, we visit one of the most famous “collpas” (that means clay-lick in English) – Collpa Blanquillo!! There you are given an opportunity to see a huge number of macaws (guacamayos), parrots and parakeets!!

We also enjoy being in a very close touch with the wild nature as we spend 2 nights in a jungle campsite!! In addition, we observe wildlife and lush vegetation of the Culture Zone of the Manu National Park, Blanco Lake (Cocha), Camungo Lake as well as the different  biosphere on the way to Puerto Maldonado!!
