The Tambopata National Reserve (RNTAMB) was created 5 September 2000 by Supreme Decree No. 048-2000-AG; It is located south of the Madre de Dios River in Tambopata and Inambari districts of the province of Tambopata in Madre de Dios region and has an area of 278,284 hectares.
Tambopata tours protect the flora, fauna and ecological processes of a sample of the southern Amazon jungle of Peru.
