THE MOST COMMON MAMMALS OF MANU PARK

are the capibara, jaguarundi or puma yagouaroundi (Herpailurus yaguarondi ) ocelot, tapir, collared peccary, jaguar, along with a wide variety of primates and other animals typical to the Amazon rainforest.It must be pointed out that this park protects many species in danger of extinction, for example the Cock- of-the-Rod which is the Peruvian, national bird, the wild Orinoco goose (Neochen jubata). the yellow tailed woolly monkey, the jaguar, ocelot and the spectacled bear , among numerous others.
