VERY IMPORTANT (1):

We suggest you stay at an altitude (above 3000 meters – as in Cusco or another high altitude city) for 3 days (minimum) before starting the journey. This is in order to minimize the effects of altitude sickness. Also, you can help your body acclimatize by drinking plenty of fluids, adding a bit more sugar to your drinks, eating foods rich in carbohydrates, avoiding cigarettes and alcohol and consume coca leaf tea (the traditional leaf Inka). Diamox can also be helpful to ask your doctor for prescription.

VERY IMPORTANT (2):  It is also highly recommended to get to Lima or Cusco (depending where you start your tour with us) at least about 48 hours before travel, there are often cases of strikes or other events beyond our control requiring us to start our tour ahead of schedule (see above Force Majeure). Please also bring information from your travel insurance (company name and policy number) for our files.
