DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY:
Itinerary Rainforest Amazon Iquitos 4 days
DAY 01: Iquitos City – Airport to Nauta Port / Amazonia Lodge.
We pick you up from Airport and transfer to the city of Nauta by paved road in a private car. here we start our tour Rainforest Amazon Iquitos We will see small local villages along the way consisting of farmers nearby the hard road.
The trip will last for approximately one hour and forty five minutes. We will visit the old city of Nauta and walk the
streets where we can see the rustic houses built with mud. These are the oldest houses in the city.From there we will take the boat down the Marañon river to the Rainforest Center Lodge near the lagoon and have a welcome drink of
natural fresh typical fruits of the jungle. There, we will assign you a private room and provide you with information of our program. Then we will take a canoe ride to the “Anaconda Cocha” lake. Next we will have a lunch of typical
jungle food, and go for a walk in the primary jungle where we will learn of plants in the area will discuss trees such as the Capirona, Capinuri, Chonta, Cercropias, Mohena and the biggest tree Lupuna or Ceiba Pethandra. You will
appreciate the many different types of bird species and local wildlife in this area like Macaws, Parrots, Wild Ducks, Horned Screamer, Kingfisher ect. Then we will return to the lodge for dinner and a brief explanation of the night
excursion by canoe. Finally we are off to see the Caymans and other nocturnal species return from the night excursion for a night in the peaceful Rainforest Lodge
DAY 02: Exploring Dolphin to Rainforest Lodge .
We will go for an early walk in the jungle to see Monkeys and Squirrels in their natural habitat and return for breakfast. After breakfast we will go on a motorboat excursion to the Marañon and Ucayali Rivers where the River is born. From there we will travel to the backwater of the Yarapa River tributary of the Amazonia River for more
viewing of the legendary Amazonia Pink Dolphin.Lunch will be provided aboard the boat, next we will visit the village of “ Castilla” to learn about the daily life of these indigenous people. From there, we will visit the farmers
plantations, the villagers are “Mestizos Indians” and originate from the Jivaro tribes who are dedicated to make handicrafts that could be bought or traded with objects that tourists bring with them. After, we will observe the
sunset on the Rainforest Center Amazonia River and return to the lodge for dinner. The guide will tell you when dinner will be prepared and what you will be eating. We will take a night walk in the jungle to learn about the
nocturnal insects of the jungle like the Batracios and other nocturnal species.You will spend the night in the Rainforest Center lodge.
DAY 03: Rainforest Amazon Iquitos – Exploring Wildlife and Birwatching .
Very early we will take a canoe ride to the lagoon of “Anaconda Cocha” and observe many various species of birds in their natural habitat. Next, we will return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, you can spend time fishing for
Piranha or other species of fish like Catfish, Tucanare, Bujurquis, Acarahuiasu, and Sardines in the lagoon closer to
the Rainforest Center lodge. The fish will be caught with typical fishing poles used by the native people. After
fishing, we will return to the lodge for lunch and then a canoe ride to the shore for more birdwatching. There we will
see Monkeys and other native species of fauna and flora jungle Wildlife Next we will have dinner at the lodge and then we will go on a nature walk to see the Spiders, Snakes, Batracios and insects of the night.
DAY 04: Rainforest Amazon Iquitos – Nauta Port to Iquitos City / Airport .
Breakfast early and an explanation about survival in the jungle using our skills and knowledge of the jungle
rainforest . Our guides will explain to you about the local medicinal plants and the preparation and use of these
herbs we will return to lodge for lunch, just in time to return to the city of Nauta. From there we will return to the
city of Iquitos by car and transfer to a hotel or airport. That will be the end of our service
NOTE: Amazonia Iquitos It is the largest protected natural area in Peru, with an area of 2, 80 million hectares
10.800 square miles, in Peru Manu National Park comes close in size at just over half of that with 1,53 million hectares.
