Tour Day  1: Cusco City Tour –

Upon arrival in Cusco, assistance at the airport, transfer to hotel, accommodation, rest of the morning. In the afternoon, 13.40 Hrs. We begin our tour visiting Cusco Cathedral,

the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun where we can appreciate the fine work that the Incas performed on the stone; then, continuing the tour we will go to Saksaywaman fortress with strategic location that offers an unparalleled

view of the city. Also appreciate Kenko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

Tour day  2: Sacred Valley – Pisaq – Urubamba – Chinchero – Ollantaytambo  .

This tour begins with the gathering of the passengers in the hotel and go through an asphalted to the town of Pisac located 32 km road from Cusco.; where you can see and do some shopping at the craft market of Pisac,

located in the Main Plaza, the typical craftsmanship in ceramics, leather and looms elaborated by the artisans themselves will also be noted.

Continuing the tour will pass through the towns of Coya, Lamay, Calca, Yucay, Urubamba, observing beautiful flora and fauna along the route which takes about 45 minutes to reach the town of Urubamba for lunch in a cozy typical restaurant;

in the afternoon we continue the journey to the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo,

after visit this important archaeological site, return visit the ruins of Chinchero and its small chapel a few minutes from the Cusco, later transferring them to their hotel.

Tour Day 3: Inca Trail To Machupicchu 2 days.

Pick you up at 5: 45 am. from their hotels in Cusco, and head to the train station to travel to Machu Picchu, from where we will go watching picturesque landscapes,

until the Km. 104 where we started our hike on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. From the Inca archaeological group of “Chachabamba” (2250 m) we went in about two hours into the fascinating Inca archaeological site of “Wiñaywayna” (2650 masl) where we enjoyed a pick nick.

In the afternoon we follow the semi-tropical forest to the “Intipunku” (Sun Gate) where we can enjoy the first panoramic view of the majestic “Machu Picchu”. From here we descend to the village of Aguas Calientes “town

of Machu Picchu” where you can optionally visit the thermal baths and spend the night comfortably in a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Tour day  4: Machipicchu  Ollantay tambo Return to cusco .

After breakfast we went to the hot springs hotel “Machu Picchu village”, take the first bus to Machu Picchu tours to enjoy the sunrise over Machu Picchu is a magical place;

enjoy a guided 2 hour approximate the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, after the explanation of our guide, we will have the day free to explore the surrounding Inca archaeological site of Machu Picchu.

You can climb Huayna Picchu mountain, from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Inca city of Machu Picchu, green valleys and mountains that surround it,

or can visit the Temple of the Moon or the fabulous Bridge Inca of Machu Picchu tours. In the afternoon bus down to Aguas Calientes “town of Machu Picchu” from where we return to Cusco traveling by train. Transfer to Hotel in Cusco .

Tour Day 5: Amazon Explorer – Cusco to Cloud forest Lodge (San Pedro):

6:00 am leaving in a private bus stopping in interesting places like Ninamarcas Chullpas these are pre-Inca cemetery.

The trip will be around 9 hours approximately, the highest pass on this road is 4000 msl. On this day we travel over the Andes and over the famous cloud forest which has interesting flora and fauna like de Andean Cock of the Rock Peru’s national bird.

In the afternoon we arrive to San Pedro. We will spend the night in a Lodge in double rooms . Optional night walk.

ToursDay 6: Amazon Explorer – Cloud Forest (San pedro Andean Montains) to Rainforest Lodge:

5:00 am we go to the lick to observe the display of the male Andean cock of the Rocks.

After the show we come back for breakfast and explore slowly looking for woolly monkey, brown capuchin, quetzals, toucans which inhabit the cloud forest.

Later we continue our trip by bus to Atalaya. From Atalaya we will make rafting . in balsa rafts which are made from balsa wood . We spend the night in the rustic Soga de Oro Lodge with private bathroom and hot shower. Optional night walk.

Tour Day 7: Amazon Explorer – Rainforest Lodge Called Native House (Casa Matsiguenka):

We leave very early to see the parrot lick which is located ten minutes down river from the lodge.

After the show we continue with our boat trip for approximately 10 hours inside the Manu National Park. During the boat ride we have the best options to see the famous Jaguar, Capybaras, Caimans sleeping on the beach, Herons fishing at the edge of the Manu and alto

Madre de Dios rivers, Macaws, Toucans, Vultures, Eagles and other species of birds which will show up along our trip.We spend the night in the rustic casa Matsiguenka shared bathroom and shower. Optional night walk.

Tour Day 8: Amazon Explorer – Native House Matsiguenka:

We leave very early to explore the impressive lake Salvador where it is possible to observe the Giant river otters (Pteronura brasiliensis), the biggest black Caimans, the different species of monkeys which inhabit Manu (13 species),

the prehistoric bird call Hoatzin, King Fishers and many more species.After lunch we visit lake Otorongo, here there is an observation tower to appreciate the lake , also it is possible to observe another family of Giant river Otter that uses this lake.

We spend the night in the rustic casa Matsiguenka shared bathroom and shower. Optional night walk.

Tour Day 9: Amazon Explorer – House Matsiguenka to Maquisapayoj Lodge:

We will leave very early so we can have the best chance to try to see the rarest Jaguar, the best time to observe animals on the rain forest are early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

The trip on the boat will be around 7 hours down the Manu and Madre de Dios river. We spend the night at the Maquisapayoj lodge private bathroom and hot shower. Optional night walk.

Tour Day 10: Amazon Explorer – Maquisapayoj to Macaw Clay Lick and Tapir Lick :

4:00 am we leave to go to the macaw clay lick, the trip is 40 minutes by boat and 15 minutes walking to the special observation hide. The activity begins around 5:50 am with the small parrots and later the big macaws.

The Parrots eat the clay which has minerals that helps the stomach digestion that is the reason why hundreds of parrots parakeets and macaws come to this particular place.

After lunch we walk through primary rain forest for 1.40 hours to the Tapir lick; here there is an especial observation platform to see the Tapir (Tapirus terrestris). The tapirs are usually active at night for this reason we have mosquito nets, mattresses and blankets to spend the night.

Tour Day 11: Amazon Explorer – Maquisapayoj Back to Puerto Carlos Port and Cusco:

Early in the morning we start with our return trip to Cusco, first by boat to Colorado village and then by car to Puerto Carlos, after crossing the Inambari River we star with the minibus to Cusco.

Arriving to Cusco late in the afternoon . For the people who wants to fly we continue our trip to Puerto Maldonado two more hours. We spend the night in a hostal with private bathroom and shower. Dinner by your own.

Tour Day 12:Amazon Explorer – Tambopata por Puerto Maldonado Flight From Cusco or Lima:

Breakfast included in the hostel, after transfer to the airport for your trip to Cusco or Lima.

TOUR DAY 01: CUSCO – INCA TRAIL – HUAYLLABAMBA

We’ll pick you up from your accommodation at 6:00 am. Then we’ll leave from Cusco by bus, in this route we’ll see a beautiful landscape because we’ll pass for a high part of Cusco,

it will be 1 and 1/2 hours to arrive at the first stop Ollantaytambo, this place is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in this place, you’ll have free time as 10 or 15 minutes to buy something maybe you forgot or simply some snacks,

after we’ll continue our route to the km. 82 Piscacuchu where we will start our adventure, after showing all our permissions and passports entrance tickets on the first control of the Inca trail we will cross the bridge, and we’ll start walking by the riverbank,

One hour later we’ll start to ascend to a nice viewpoint where we’ll find the first Inca site, this will be Llaqtapata, after the information of our guide we’ll continue walking to Wayllabamba our first camping site where we’ll rest this first day.

TOUR DAY 02 : INCA TRAIL TO WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIHUAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYO

After breakfast, we’ll continue our route, this second day of our adventure, for many the most difficult day, because it will be as seven or eight hours walking where the first four hours will be all uphill,

in this part, we’ll find hundreds of steps mixed with typical flora, small trees, and bushes, before arriving at the highest point “the Warmiwañusca pass”, (4200 m.a.s.l), from this place we’ll find a beautiful landscape.

Here, you will have a tremendous feeling of achievement mixed with relief on reaching the top. After lunch, you will continue from this place you’ll see more marked the Inca Trail (the stoned route) to arrive in Pacaymayo where you will have dinner and rest this second night.

Walking Distance: 13 km (8.07 Miles) – 7 and 1/2 Hours.

TOUR DAY 03 :

INCA TRAIL TO PACAYMAYO – WIÑAYHUYNA

This day we’ll find many Inca sites, we’ll remember the second day because the first part will be uphill (max. 2 hours), to arrive in the second pass of the trail at 3,850 m.a.s.l.

Going up we’ll find the archaeological site of Runkurakay from this place you’ll have a nice view of the Pacaymayu Valley,

crossing the second pass, we’ll continue walking down to the Inca site of Sayacmarka one of the biggest places of the route,

after hearing the guide’s information we’ll continue our trek always finding other small Inca sites on the way, we’ll pass by one tunnel, a natural formation that the Incas used because that is the only way to continue in the trail,

At half way, we’ll have lunch, and we’ll have time to rest, our final destination this day will be the camping site of Wiñaywayna where we’ll rest this third night, in the afternoon you can visit the Inca Site.

TOUR DAY 04 :

INCA TRAIL TO WIÑAYHUAYNA – INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU – RETURN TO CUSCO

After breakfast, we’ll have to start to walk very early to arrive in time for sunrise at Machu Picchu. After a one-hour walk through the forest towards the Inti Punku or the Sun Gate,

also known as the Entrance Gate to Machu Picchu, where you will have the most impressive panoramic view of the citadel.

Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, you will have a short free time to take the first pictures, then we will go down to the gate to leave all our stuff and use the restroom,

then we will have two hours guided tour around the citadel, visiting the main sites and temples, after this guiding tour you will have free time to walk around and explore Machu Picchu by your own,

then we’ll go down to Aguas Calientes town, this will be 50 minutes walking (you have the option to take a bus 25 minutes for US$ 12.00),

In Aguas Calientes you will have free time to have lunch, then In the afternoon we’ll take a train for one and a half hours to Ollantaytambo and there we will pick you up to bring you back by bus to Cusco.

Tour Day 05:

 Cusco – Ninamarca – Cloud Forest to Paraiso Lodge Inn.

We leave Cusco early in the morning to start our adventurous trip! First, we are taken by private transport to the place called Ninamarca to observe pre-Incan “chullpas” (tombs) of the Lupaca’s culture.

Then, we continue to Paucartambo, a colonial town with narrow streets and beautiful church, where people still keep their old customs.Then, we ascend to the viewpoint Tres Cruces (3,900 masl) to observe one of the best sunrises of the world!

From there, we start descending to the Manu National Park, a place of presence of cock of the rock (a Peruvian national bird), hummingbirds, strikingly coloured quetzals, trogons, spotted flycatcher and woolly monkey.

From flora, we can view a variety of orchids, mosses, ferns, etc. Finally, we get to Pilcopata (700 masl) where we overnight in Tikari Lodge after enjoying dinner and shower.

Tour Day 06:

Paraiso Inn lodge to Boca Manu .

After breakfast, we get on our private vehicle to ride for one and half an hour to the main port of the Manu National Park – Atalaya (500 masl). There, we board a motorized boat to continue for about 7 hours navigating on the Madre de Dios River

. Along the river, we have a great opportunity to observe various species such as herons, vultures, kingfishers, turtles and some of 13 monkey species living in Manu! In the afternoon, we reach our next lodge situated in Boca

Manu where we spend the night.

Tour Day 07:

Boca Manu to Manu reserved Zone .

Today, we say good-bye to the Madre de Dios River to change for a navigation on the Manu River offering us other amazing views of a great variety of species living in and around it such as groups

of turtles, white caimans, capybaras, jaguar (Panthera onca) resting on a log and watching its territory. In the afternoon, we reach a next jungle lodge called Otorongo that offers us basic rooms with bathrooms.

Later on, our Tour Guide takes us to the Otorongo Lake where an observation tower is placed allowing us to watch giant otters living there. During that, the Guide teaches us functions and secrets of the jungle.

After that, we return to the lodge to have dinner and spend the night. Optional: A night walkm in our trips Manu Tour

Tour Day 08:

Exploring -Cocha salvador and Cocha Otorongo .

Today, we visit the Salvador Lake in our silent rowing boat that allows us observing a family of playful giant river otters, black caimans as well as many rare bird species including a prehistoric bird called shansho!

You can be sure that animals here in wild Amazon Manu have never suffered from hunting by people! In the afternoon, we return to our lodge near Otorongo Lake to have a rest and sleep. Optional: A night walk in the Manu Tour

Tour Day 09:

Manu Reserve to Pakitza .

In the morning, our group starts the travel on boat from Otorongo Lake towards Pakitza offering us to see more wildlife. In Pakitza, we follow some Amazon paths while watching other mammal’s species. In the afternoon, we return to our lodge to rest inthe Reserve center Manu Tour

TOURS DAY 10:

Manu Reserve to Rainforest lodge .

Today surely starts with a howler monkey scream that wake us up. After breakfast, we navigate on the Manu River to Boca Manu. We change there for the Madre de Dios River and continue navigating until reaching Rainforest Lodge, a place of our next overnight in wildlife Manu Tour

Tour Day 11:

Reurn Rainforest Lodge to Cusco .

We wake up very early today to go by boat to see a 10 minute far away parrot clay-lick! After that, we get back to the lodge where we are served breakfast adding us energy for our

last travel so that we board a motorized boat and start navigating towards the Atalaya Port. Our private vehicle awaits us there to take us back to Cusco. We arrive there approximately between 6 and 6:30 pm.

IMPORTANT
You need to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever as well as to bring some anti-malaria tablets with you!!

 

Trek Amazon to Machupicchu 7 days

TOURS DAY 1:

Note. There are a limited number of permits for the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (only 200 spaces per day, except in February when the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is closed for maintenance) and you must book well in advance. For high season (May to October) must contact us info@manujungletrips.com at least 6-4 months in advance. Permits are issued according to the remaining availability. From (November to April) 4-2 months in advance.

TOURS DAY 4:

Travel Cusco – Pilcopata – Tikari Lodge – Rainforest to Manu Center

We leave Cusco early in the morning to start our adventurous trip! First, we are taken by private transport to the place called Ninamarca to observe pre-Incan “chullpas” (tombs) of the Lupaca’s culture. Then, we continue to Paucartambo, a colonial town with narrow streets and beautiful church, where people still keep their old customs. Later, we ascend to Acjanaco Pass (3,550 masl) considered as an entrance to the Manu National Park and then we get to the viewpoint Tres Cruces de Oro (3,700 masl) to watch one of the best sunrises of the world! From there, we start descending to the edge of the Manu jungle passing first an elfin forest and there a cloud forest where we can view a cock of the rock, hummingbirds, strikingly coloured quetzals, trogons, spotted flycatcher and woolly monkey. From flora, we can view a variety of orchids, mosses, ferns, etc. Finally, we get to Pilcopata (700 masl) where our first accommodation – Tikari Lodge is placed. We can refresh ourselves there having a shower and after that, we are served dinner, before we get to bed.

TOURS DAY 5:

Travel Tikari Lodge – Atalaya – Rainforest Lodge – Manu Center

After breakfast, we continue our journey by private car (one and half an hour) towards the port at Atalaya (500 m.a.s.l). There, we board a motorized boat to continue for about half an hour navigating on the Alto Madre de Dios River. Along the rocky riversides, we have a great opportunity to observe the river wildlife like many birds, turtles or sunbathing lizards. In the afternoon, we reach our next lodge – Rainforest Lodge. Then we go to explore nearby paths where we can see a big diversity of species, for example, tarantulas, ants, butterflies, some monkey species, huge trees, erotic plants, palms, etc. After that, we return to our lodge to overnight.

TOURS DAY 6:

Travel Rainforest Lodge – Machuwasi Lake – Manu Center

We wake up very early today after having nice dreams to explore a deeper part of the Peruvian jungle getting to know its particular flora and fauna! This special place offers you an opportunity to view its endemic species hidden in the deep Manu as well as medicinal plants used by local native people to heal various sicknesses!! If we are lucky, we can also spot big animals such as a jaguar, a puma, wild boars, capybaras, anteaters, etc. After that, we get back to our lodge for lunch. Then, we have a short break to enjoy a refreshing bath in a river or just relax in the lodge. In the afternoon, we go to visit Machuwasi Lake to check out a sail in “remos” (hollowed tree trunks used by natives of the area). This is a perfect way on how to watch a big diversity of local animal species such as a prehistoric bird called hoatzin, some caimans, capybaras or monkeys Tocon (Callicebus oenanthe). Later on, we return to the lodge to spend the night.

TOURS DAY 7:

Travel Manu Center – Rainforest Lodge – Parrot Clay Lick – Atalaya – Tour Cusco

After breakfast, we board a motor boat taking us to a 10 minute far away clay-lick of parrots, budgerigars and aras (guacamayo) which is an unforgettable experience! After this activity, we return to the lodge to have breakfast. Then we re-board our boat to start returning. Our first stop is in the Atalaya Port where our private vehicle awaits us to take us back to Cusco arriving there between 7 and 7:30 pm.
