Day 01: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Jungle Hikes – Lodge in Pilcopata

Start your journey at 6:00 AM from Cusco, heading toward Manu National Park. Along the way, visit the Ninamarca Archaeological Site, explore Paucartambo Village, and cross the Acjanaco Pass (3,900 m) into the lush Cloud Forest. Spot orchids, ferns, and wildlife like the Andean cock-of-the-rock, trogons, and possibly the spectacled bear. Arrive in Pilcopata and check into your jungle lodge.

Day 02: Atalaya Port – Boat Ride – Machuhuasi Oxbow Lake

Travel to Atalaya Port with stops at coca plantations and panoramic viewpoints. Cruise down the Madre de Dios River, watching for capybaras, monkeys, and birds. Explore Machuhuasi Oxbow Lake by balsa raft, spotting hoatzins, toucans, and more. Day 03: Parrot Clay Lick – Jungle Trek – Clay Therapy

Visit the vibrant Parrot Clay Lick at sunrise to see parrots and macaws gather. After breakfast, embark on a 3-hour jungle hike through towering ceiba trees in search of toucans, snakes, and perhaps a jaguar. In the afternoon, enjoy a clay therapy session, swim in the river, and watch for howler monkeys and rare Amazon birds.

Day 04: Hot Springs – Waterfalls – Shintuya Indigenous Community

Cruise the Alto Madre de Dios River, spotting squirrel monkeys, kingfishers, and the king vulture. Hike to hidden waterfalls and soak in the Shintuya Hot Springs, used by locals for healing. Day 05: Jungle Walk – Atalaya Port – Return to Cusco
