Manu Weather Climate Peru.

In the higher regions of the park, located in the southern Andes, rainfall is moderate, with annual precipitation ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 mm. As you descend toward the mid-elevation zones, rainfall increases significantly, ranging from 3,000 to 3,500 mm. The northwest corner of the park holds the record for the highest rainfall, surpassing an astounding 8,000 mm annually.

Manu’s tropical climate is most prominent during the rainy season from October to April, when intense rainfall nourishes the lush, vibrant rainforest, creating a dreamlike environment perfect for those seeking rich biodiversity. From May to September, the dry season offers a more temperate atmosphere with less frequent rain showers and cooler temperatures — ideal for travelers who prefer exploring without the weight of humidity.

The extreme topography of Manu Park creates multiple microclimates and has different ecological floors.

For this reason, it has areas of lower elevation that become the warmest with average temperatures ranging from 35 C during the day, during the night the temperature has an average of 25C.

These are the higher elevation areas of the Manu National Park, during the day the temperatures are cooler.
In rainy seasons temperatures drop to 10 C (50 F). which is another meteorological phenomenon, called “or” friaje “, occurs when the polar winds of Patagonia sweep the mountains and the tropical forest. Temperatures can be as low as 8 C .
